Hey, fancy seeing you here!
Over the years Oblivion has kept its code section open to all visitors, giving everyone complete access to the resources made by staff members and users alike. It has come to our attention that a lot of peeps from around the globe regularly visit our tiny community; we’re not sure how you found us or why, but thank you for being here and we hope you’re enjoying your stay, language barrier aside – feel free to drop a message in our shoutbox! We’re an affectionate bunch.
Though it’s incredibly flattering to see international folk around here, liking our codes to the point where they feel compelled to share them on their own forums, we unfortunately feel like our kindness has been taken for granted way too many times before; lately it has come to the point where releasing codes is more stressful than it’s worth, due to strangers stealing our codes and claiming them as their own, thinking we’ll never find out because our user base is Italian. However we do also realize that it might not be easy to navigate sections and properly follow terms of use when you have no choice but to run every sentence through Google Translate. To tackle this issue, we decided to add translations to all of our published codes; it will definitely take us a while, though, so in the meantime make sure to follow standard etiquette:
1. Don’t steal and claim as your own,
2. Keep the credits intact,
3. Don’t reupload on other sites without permission,
4. Don’t use our released codes as a base.
Further information can either be found by reading creators’ terms of use in their respective topics, or by directly contacting them.
At the end of the day, we wouldn’t be keeping our forum accessible to everyone if we didn’t feel like sharing the things we’re passionate about with others – however, resources like character sheets take a lot of time to make, and it’s only fair that creators get credited for their effort. We’d like to keep things the way that they are; please don’t force us to use restrictions.
